Really great site! I enjoyed visiting it a lot.

I had found reference to my 4great-grandfather owning a house in an 1861 census. It has his house being on Mazyck St between Broad and Beaufain. Yet I cannot find any reference to a Mazyck St. Was it renamed? I couldn't find anything that gave me concrete evidence on your site but you have the most information that I could find anywhere.

My Dad, Lewis R. Marian, was a member of the Oakland Lodge. He past away several years ago before I was able to enter the Masons. I was wondering if any of his friends may still be around and if so, can you please contact me.

My question is, did he become a 33rd Degree Mason? I remember his ring (band) for 32nd degree although we are unable to locate it, but we (my sister and I) can't remember if he made 33rd or not.

Your website is very good and informative.

I may soon be WM of my lodge, Trenton 111. I would prefer to wear my SR cap during my work as WM. There is very little SR representation in my lodge. Really i am the only one.
May it wear it, and also, while operating as WM, would i have to remove it during Prayer, and when the word God is invoked. I would rather not as my personal religious inclination is to have my head covered , as opposed to uncovered.

I have been fortunate enough to be in the Candidates Class this Fall Reunion at the Valley of St. Louis, Missouri. I have asked the Library Committee to join it, and told them about a wonderful book that I had come across when I lived in California called the 32 and 33 Degree Handbook.

Ed from the Library Committee in the Valley of St. Louis said that we have a budget, and would be interested in being able to have it in our library.

Is there anyone that can help be attain one for our library here in St. Louis, Missouri?

Your explanation of the Scottish Rite is very clear and well-worded, with brevity too. I would like to see more explanation, however, about what appears a one-time seminar where the 32nd degree is awarded to attendees if they are Master Masons, such as I.
